Earth Hour Day is being celebrated in Himachal Pradesh on 25 March. Earth Hour will be celebrated from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm on the theme The Biggest Hour for Earth. Appreciating the efforts of World Wide Fund for Nature India (WWF-India), CM Sukhu has appealed everyone to cooperate in this.
CM Sukhu said that turning off electricity for one hour will give a boost to the conservation of nature. People have been appealed to cooperate in this campaign by turning off all unnecessary lights between 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm on March 25.
The Chief Minister said that the state government would make Himachal a completely green energy state by March 31, 2026. The use of electric vehicles is being promoted in the state to reduce carbon emissions. In the first phase, 6 green corridor highways and state highways will be constructed for the operation of e-vehicles.
To promote e-vehicles, the state government will give 50 percent subsidy on the purchase of private buses and trucks. Apart from this, the government will also give 50 percent subsidy for setting up charging stations.
