The Yogananda Knowledge Centre (YKC) hosted an EBSCO understanding orientation programme at Shoolini University on Thursday.
The orientation training session was led by Mr. Ritesh Kumar, Senior Training Manager of North India, and Mr. Arun Kalia, Area Manager of EBSCO. The orientation programme was important for understanding e-books and e-journals.
EBSCO is the world’s leading provider of research databases, e-journal and e-package subscription management, book collection development and acquisition management, and library technology, e-books, and clinical decision solutions to universities, colleges, hospitals, corporations, government agencies, K-12 schools, and public libraries.
Mr. Arun Kalia Area Manager of EBSCO explained how to use EBSCO, how to get books online, and how many books can be downloaded online through EBSCO. He also explained how we can get to these resources via the Shoolini website or mobile app.
Mr. Ritesh Kumar, Senior Training Manager of North India, took the students through each part of the EBSCO process.
The orientation was attended by approximately 300 students, faculty, and researchers.
All the librarians and professors, Dr. Subodh Saurabh Singh and Dr. Mala, Dr. Rohit Chobe, School of Ancient Indian Knowledge and Yogic Studies, and Professor Dr. Nand Lal Gupta, School of Psychology, as well as students, UG, PG, and research scholars, attended the orientation.
Earlier in this month the Faculty of Legal Sciences and faculty of B.R. Ambedkar Law Library at Shoolini University organised an orientation programme for BA, LLB, LL.B, and LL.M freshmen on how to access Supreme Court Cases (SCC) Online E-resource.
Mr. Rohit Sood, from the Supreme Court Cases (SCC) Online E-resource, and key speaker of the session introduced the SCC online web page and the login procedure. He briefly explained the special database structured and curated by SCC online and the usage and download of these resources from a website or application.
