The department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, JUIT Waknaghat took an initiative of signing a MoU with Mitsubishi Electric India (MEI) Pvt. Ltd. Company; Gurugram in April 2022. The MoU was signed for a duration of 1 year initially upto 2023 which has been extended further for a period of 3 years i.e. 2026. Under this MoU, the MEI has provided the JUIT with Mitsubishi Factory Automation Student Learning Set-Ups. The main components in this set-up comprises of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Inverter, Human machine interface (HMI), and Servo Motors. In the further extension of strengthening this set-up, MEI will provide JUIT with an Industrial Robot Set-Up. This whole set-up is related to the field of industrial Automation and is helping the JUIT students to excel their knowledge in this field.
JUIT has organized various activities related to this field in which the resource person from MEI
conducted training programmes in offline mode held at JUIT Waknaghat in the month of June
2022, and February 2023. Recently, an online training session related to Mitsubishi FA Set-Up
has been successfully completed on 31-10-2023 during 3PM-5PM. The training was coordinated
by Dr. Salman Raju Talluri and Dr. Pardeep Garg (faculty members of ECE department) under
the guidance of Prof. Rajiv Kumar (HoD, ECE department). The expert and the resource person for the training is Ms. Himanshi Bhardwaj. She is an employee of Mitsubishi Electric India(MEI) Pvt. Ltd. at Gurugram. The students of 4th ,3rd, 2nd, and 1st year of ECE/ECM discipline,3rd year of CSE discipline, HOD, faculty members, and staff members of ECE department attended the training session. Ms. Himanshi started the session with the presentation on topic‘iQ-R PLC’.
She covered the fundamentals of iQ-R and then started the hands-on session related to the programming concepts of PLC using Ladder-logic language. All the students and faculty members in the session successfully completed the session.
At the end of the session, Ms.Himanshi Bhardwaj discussed the important aspects of Automation field in industry with final year ECE students which remained very inspirational for their upcoming placement activity
