Emerging Dehati Producer Company Limited (EDPCL), working as a Cluster-Based Business Organization (CBBO) under the Government of India’s 10,000 FPO scheme, organised a two-day capacity-building and training programme for CEOs and accountants of Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) at Health & Training Institute, Parimahal, on February 17–18.
About 50 participants attended the programme aimed at strengthening governance, financial management, statutory compliance and business planning of FPCs.
Director Pallavi Patyal stressed the need for professional management to ensure the sustainable growth of FPCs.
Technical sessions were conducted by officials of agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry departments, including Dr Mahender Bhawani (Deputy Director Agriculture), Dr Karan Sehgal (Veterinary Officer) and Dr Pradeep Himral (SMS, Horticulture). They highlighted departmental schemes and convergence opportunities.
Participants were also given practical training in bio-fertiliser preparation and mulching techniques under natural farming.
A financial literacy session was taken by CA Sakshay Vrat and Nitin Garg, MSME head at Union Bank of India, focusing on compliance, fund management, investment avenues and roles of FPC executives.
