Annual prize distribution ceremony held at PM Shri Government Excellent Senior Secondary School, Chandi
Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi said that imparting life values to children, along with education, is essential for their all-around development. Sanjay Awasthi was addressing the annual prize distribution ceremony at the PM Shri Government Excellence Senior Secondary School, Chandi, in the Arki Assembly constituency today.
Sanjay Awasthi stated that the state government’s objective is to make students inclusive, equitable, forward-looking, aware of new technologies, and sensitive to life values. He added that in today’s era, the goal of education is no longer simply to obtain marks; rather, the all-round development of students is essential to meet future challenges. Along with education, students must also master other activities to prepare them for the competitive times ahead.
The MLA urged teachers and parents to ensure children are taught life values in this online age. Knowledge of life values will help children become good citizens and keep them away from addiction. He said that to protect children from addiction, awareness must be raised about their physical development. Sports are also essential to keep children away from addiction. He urged children to stay away from addiction and increase their interest in sports.
He said that under the able leadership of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, various positive decisions have been taken to provide quality education to the state’s students. In this connection, Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding Schools are being established in every assembly constituency of the state.
Sanjay Awasthi honoured the meritorious children on this occasion and conveyed his best wishes to them.
He announced to give Rs 10,000 each from his discretionary fund to the 8 children selected in the national level sports competition and wished them victory.
The MLA announced a donation of ₹10 lakh for the construction of an examination hall and additional rooms at the PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School of Excellence, Chandi. He also announced a grant of ₹21,000 to the organising committee and ₹5,100 to children who performed cultural programs.
On this occasion, colourful cultural programmes were also presented by the students.
