Nahan 19, December. As part of the special awareness campaign being run in Sirmaur district, cultural groups approved by the Department of Information and Public Relations today organized programs in the Gram Panchayats of Shamah Pamta and Baldawa Bohal Khuinal of development block Tilordhar, Ghanduri and Bhawai of development block Sangdah and Rajgarh and Shalana’s Behad village of development block Rajgarh and brought the government’s welfare schemes to the people.
During this, the artists told through song and drama that under the Dr. YS Parmar Student Loan Scheme of the state government, a loan of Rs. 20 lakh is being made available at only one percent interest to the students of poor families for pursuing higher education. Under this scheme, financial assistance will be provided for pursuing various diploma and degree courses including engineering, medical, management, paramedical, pharmacy, nursing, law, industrial training institutes, polytechnic institutes and PhD from recognized universities.
In the programme, the government gave detailed information about the assistance provided through Village Dwar, Him Gagan Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Adarsh Day-Boarding School and Chief Minister Medical Assistance Fund.
