Education Minister Rohit Thakur inaugurated various projects during his visit to Kotkhai today, including the opening of the Revenue Records Room at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office in Kotkhai. Previously, this office was located in Theog. The opening of this office will facilitate the residents of the Kotkhai area in obtaining their land records.
He also inspected the Sub-Judge Court complex. The construction of this complex cost ₹10 lakh. Rohit Thakur stated that the Sub-Judge Court will be operational soon.
Along with this, he also inaugurated the newly upgraded sub-division level veterinary dispensary and participated in the animal breeding camp organized by Himachal Pradesh Animal Husbandry Department.
Rohit Thakur stated that this veterinary dispensary is the first sub-divisional veterinary dispensary in Shimla district, where various animal diseases, especially cattle, will be treated, and the citizens of the entire Kotkhai division will benefit. Additionally, the positions of Senior Veterinary Officer and Chief Pharmacist will be filled soon. The second floor of this dispensary building has also been constructed, costing ₹9 lakh.
Divandi Kathandi road inaugurated
The Education Minister also inaugurated the 1.5-kilometer-long Diwandi Kathandi road, constructed at a cost of ₹30 lakh under the Gram Panchayat Tahu Kathandi. He congratulated the local people on the construction of this road. Meanwhile, local villagers thanked the Education Minister for the proximity of the 700-meter-long Marathu Chaman Nala road under the Gram Panchayat Darkoti. Rohit Thakur stated that during the current Congress government’s three-year tenure, new milestones of development have been established in Jubbal-Nawar Kotkhai. Under this, ₹550 crore has been approved for road and building construction under the Public Works Department alone in Jubbal-Nawar Kotkhai, and various development works are underway.
Shedding light on the subject of education, Rohit Thakur stated that the government is committed to providing quality, easy, and accessible education to its students, and many effective decisions have been made to achieve this. The Kendriya Vidyalaya opening in Kotkhai is a major and important institution that will provide quality and modern education to local children in the future. Rohit Thakur stated that the opening of a Kendriya Vidyalaya in a rural setting is a significant achievement.
During this, he also congratulated the villagers on the formation of the new Panchayat “Tahu Kathandi” after separating from Gram Panchayat Tharola. He also expressed confidence that development works will gain more momentum after the formation of the newly created Panchayat. Rohit Thakur informed that the upgradation work of the important Marathu Tharola road of this area is in progress at a cost of Rs 16 crore and the construction work of Primary Health Center Tharola is also in progress at a cost of Rs 1 crore 75 lakh.

Education Minister expresses grief over the untimely death of Shakun Semta
Rohit Thakur expressed grief over the untimely death of Shakun Semta, a resident of Kathandi village, met the bereaved family and expressed condolences and also observed two minutes silence at the meeting place.
Rohit Thakur said that the late Shakun Semta was a good-natured and friendly young man and a strong Congress Party worker. His untimely demise has deeply saddened the entire region and the Congress Party. May his soul rest in peace.
