Outreach programs should be organized for skill development among youth
The pause in the education of children due to the migration of Gujjar tribe to Dhars should be resolved

Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal, a meeting of the district level committee was organized today in the auditorium of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on issues related to the Prime Minister’s new 15-point program, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the National Trust and the rights of the disabled people.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed in detail the various activities being conducted at the district level under the Prime Minister’s new 15-point program. He directed all the concerned departmental officers to ensure effective implementation of the schemes meant for the welfare of the minority community.
Mukesh Repaswal expressed concern over the absence of students and small children from schools and Anganwadi centers due to migration of people of minority community, especially Gujjar tribe, to high hill areas (Dhars) for short periods. He asked the officials of the education department and representatives of social organizations to give practical solutions and suggestions to solve the issue through mutual coordination.
He also directed the department officials to connect the students belonging to minority community with various scholarship schemes.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the data of people belonging to the minority community benefiting from various schemes being implemented by the Rural Development Department. He said that according to the departmental data, 1861 families were benefited under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin. Similarly, 812 families are associated with 151 self-help groups.
In the meeting, the economist from the District Development Office informed that there are some communities belonging to the minority class in the district, who are listed in the Scheduled Tribe category and are receiving the benefits of various departmental schemes under Scheduled Tribe.
Mukesh Repaswal also asked the in-charges of various Industrial Training Institutes and representatives of social organizations to organize outreach programs for admission in various technical training courses to enhance the skill development capacity among the youth belonging to minority communities.
He also directed the concerned departmental officers to connect the disabled students with the scholarship scheme provided by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the concerned officers to take necessary action to convert the old disability certificates into UDID cards (Unique Disability Identification).
During the meeting, Mukesh Repaswal also reviewed in detail the matters related to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and gave necessary guidelines to the concerned departmental officers.
Additional Superintendent of Police Shivani Mehla, Medical Superintendent Dr. Jalam Bhardwaj, Deputy Director Higher Education Bhag Singh, Deputy Director Elementary Education Balbir Singh, Manager District Lead Bank DC Chauhan, Medical Officer Dr. Kritika Mahajan, Principal Industrial Training Institute Chamba Vipan Sharma, Executive District Welfare Officer Raj Bahadur, Economist Vinod Kumar, Junior Engineer Nitika Thakur, Manager National Urban Livelihood Mission Ruchi Mankotia, Dr. Israr Ali from Anjuman Islamia along with various departmental officers and representatives of social organizations were present in the meeting.
