Shimla
An incident on Mall Road in Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla has come to everyone’s notice through social media. A person named Amarjeet Raina has made serious allegations not only on Shimla Police but also on SP Shimla through a social media post.

According to the post, a 94-year-old man fell on the road near Sher-e-Punjab on Mall Road. The old man had injuries on his nose and mouth and was bleeding profusely. In such a situation, when help was sought by calling emergency numbers, no response was received.
The surprising thing is that even after calling repeatedly, help was not received. Let us tell you that the incident is being reported on Tuesday afternoon. It is also told in the post that an attempt was made to inform SP Shimla about the condition of the old man but no help arrived for an hour.
According to Raina, the police control room, emergency number and concerned officials were called several times for help, but no police vehicle or PVR (Police Vehicle for Rescue) came. He said that the ambulance came after an hour and he was taken to the hospital.
The surprising thing is that this incident happened on Mall Road in Shimla where apart from the police control room, police is deployed 24 hours a day. Despite this, why did no help arrive immediately? Such negligence in the capital Shimla raises many questions.
The police is present at the historic Ridge ground in Shimla all the time. Not only this, police personnel patrol the Mall Road day and night. In such a situation, questions are bound to arise on the working of the police.
On the other hand, SHO Shimla has denied these allegations. He said that at 3.11 pm, the Senior Superintendent of Police had informed the police helpline over telephone that a person had fallen in Lower Bazaar and asked them to go to the spot and verify the situation.” “Immediately, a team from the police helpline was sent to Lower Bazaar and this information was also given to the Sadar police station and 108 was also informed from the police helpline. A team from the police station was also deployed to find out about the injured person”, he added.
As soon as the team from the police helpline reached the spot (near Thakur Bhrata shop), it was found that the injured person had been taken to the hospital in a vehicle, SHO informed.
SHO said “the police came into action immediately after receiving the information and the police did not commit any negligence on their part. The police is always ready to serve the general public.”
