Shimla ,15 December
Electricity Board outsourced employees will be on strike across the state on Monday and will protest outside the headquarters. At the same time, the Electricity Board Employees Union has also supported the movement of outsourced employees, and the Board employees will also participate in the demonstration of outsourced employees to be held at the headquarters. In this regard, a meeting of officials of the Joint Front of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Employees and Engineers was held on Sunday. It was held through Google Meet under the chairmanship of Lokesh Thakur. In this, the Electricity Board Outsource Employees Union supported the protest proposed yesterday and also appealed to all the employees and engineers for cooperation in this. During this time, it was decided that on these issues, all the officers of the front would meet the board management on 23 December after the Assembly session and give their documents.
Although the Joint Front believes in solving the problems through talks, in view of the anger growing among the electricity employees and engineers due to the delay in these demands, it is necessary to time it in the talks between the management class. Joint Front co-convenor Heera Lal Verma said that the employees are placing many demands before the board management and the government, but no decision is being taken on them. Among these, restoration of old pensions of employees comes first. Apart from this, other demands, including recruitment of vacant posts in the board, firing of outsourced drivers, and abolition of posts of engineers, are pending with the management, but neither the management nor the government is taking any decision on these.
