A review meeting of cases under the Forest Conservation Act (FCA) was held on Sunday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Chamba, Mukesh Repswal, who directed officials to ensure time-bound and effective disposal of pending cases to avoid unnecessary delays in developmental projects.
The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of various proposals related to permissions required under the Forest Conservation Act for development works being implemented in Chamba subdivision of Himachal Pradesh. Detailed discussions were held on the status of cases submitted by different departments, reasons for pendency and hurdles in the approval process.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed all concerned departmental officers to work in coordination and maintain transparency while prioritising the disposal of pending cases. He directed officials to promptly resolve objections in pending matters and ensure timely submission of required documents.
Repswal emphasised that effective inter-departmental coordination is essential to accelerate development works. He also advised departments to thoroughly examine all technical and revenue-related formalities before forwarding proposals to higher authorities to prevent objections at later stages.
During the meeting, compliance with directions issued in the previous review meeting was also assessed, and officers concerned were asked to expedite action on pending points.
Among those present were Divisional Forest Officer Kritagya Kumar, Assistant Engineer Dinesh Kumar, Assistant Engineer (Tissa) Sanjeev Atri, Junior Engineer Neetika Thakur and other officials from various departments.
