There is a wave of happiness among the people due to this decision of Cantonment Board Kasauli. People have expressed their gratitude to the Cantonment Board.
Let us tell you that according to the notification issued in the Gazette of India from the office of the Ministry of Defense earlier, on April 11, 2023, the entry tax on Kasauli Cantonment Barrier was postponed with immediate effect. For this, the Ministry of Defense had also issued orders.
Rinku, the contractor of the Cantonment Board, said that according to the latest orders, only Rs 85 is being charged for parking. No entry tax is being charged from the vehicle drivers. Local people have welcomed the decision to cancel the entry tax after the notification issued by the Defense Ministry. However, the fees for newly constructed multilevel parking in Kasauli Cantonment at a cost of crores of rupees have already been imposed by the Defense Ministry.
Earlier, people had to shell out Rs 130 for the first 4 hours and then Rs 20 per hour to park their vehicles in the newly constructed parking. Parking fee of Rs 500 was being collected for the whole day. For motor cycles and scooters, people had to pay Rs 50 for the first 4 hours and Rs 10 per hour thereafter and Rs 100 for the whole day.
Apart from this, parking fee of Rs 200 on every occasion for truck, bus and tipper, Rs 700 on every occasion outside the cantonment limits was being collected.
