Consultant psychiatrist Dr. Sukriti Kaushak addresses students on stress management and emotional well-being
Baddi: The Department of Radiology and Imaging Technology and Medical Laboratory Technology under the School of Medical Sciences organized an informative guest talk on Mental Health and Well-Being on December 2, 2025.
The session was delivered by Dr. Sukriti Kaushak, MD Psychiatry and Consultant Psychiatrist at Civil Hospital, Baddi, who shared valuable insights on the significance of mental health among students and healthcare professionals.
During the talk, Dr. Kaushak emphasized the importance of maintaining emotional balance, managing stress effectively, and recognizing early signs of mental health concerns. She highlighted that mental well-being plays a vital role in both academic performance and professional life, particularly for those working in the healthcare sector.
She also discussed various ways through which individuals can seek support, including consulting mental health professionals, approaching campus counsellors, joining support groups, and reaching out to trusted mentors. She reassured students that seeking help is a sign of strength and that support systems are always available.
The session encouraged participants to prioritize self-care, communicate openly about mental health challenges, and foster a supportive and compassionate environment in both academic and clinical settings.
