*Education Minister participated in the district level Rathal fair*
Education Minister Rohit Thakur today attended the historic and famous district level Rathal fair under Shurachali area in Jubbal subdivision. It is worth mentioning that this fair is being celebrated for centuries and is a symbol of faith of the local people. In this fair, 4 major deities of the area Banad, Desmouliya, Pavaasi and Gudaru participate, which are related to Sharachali area along with Mandal, Dhadi, Bholad and Chhupari villages respectively. Along with the local people, a large number of people from the neighboring area Rohru also participate in this fair. Rohit Thakur took blessings of all the deities on the occasion of the historic fair and congratulated the people of the area and the devotees who came to the fair on the occasion of Rathal fair.
He said that fairs and festivals are the symbol of our rich culture and it is necessary that we all preserve these cultural heritages so that our great and unique Dev Sanskruti can be preserved for eternity. While appealing to the youth, he said that our culture gives us the message of mutual love, harmony and amity. While we have to move ahead with everyone in the current scientific age and global conditions, it is also important that we remain connected with our ancient and original culture.

Rohit Thakur informed that proper development has been ensured in his constituency Jubbal-Kotkhai and Shurachali area is also not untouched by it. He informed that the work of metalling and tarring of Sawda-Mandal-Jhagtan, which is the most important road of this area, is going on at war footing at a cost of Rs 22 crore 48 lakh. The work of retarring of Thana to Mandal road, which was damaged in the disaster of 2023, is also in progress at a cost of Rs 25 lakh. Rohit Thakur informed that the construction work of Chamsu bridge to be built at a cost of Rs 4 crore 25 lakh will be started soon. This bridge is being built at an important and central place, which will not only benefit the people of Shurachali but also the villagers of the border Rohru sub-division. Apart from this, the work of the building of Primary Health Center Bholad, which is under construction at a cost of Rs 1 crore 74 lakh, is also in progress and the newly constructed building of Government Senior Secondary School Rathal has also been dedicated to the public with an amount of Rs 1 crore 54 lakh. Apart from this, the “Rohtan to Chatnol” link road to be built at a cost of Rs. 5.64 crore under Mandal Panchayat and the “Jarla Kyara Bhonwa” link road to be built at a cost of Rs. 6.66 crore under Bholad Panchayat have been sent for financing under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana Phase 4.

Rohit Thakur said that since last year, due to the request of local people and the efforts of state government, Rathal fair was declared as district level fair and this year it was celebrated as district level fair.
Rohit Thakur also wished Rakshabandhan to all the people who came to the fair.
On this occasion, Rohit Thakur inaugurated the program by cutting the cake. Various cultural programs were also presented during this time.
