Due to the controversial video that has been going viral on social media for the last few days, the Mahila Panchayat Samiti member has finally had to lose her post. Let us tell you that in the month of November, the video of ward member Sushma Devi’s behavior with two hawkers belonging to a particular community of Gandad Baradam Panchayat Samiti of Lambagaon development block had gone viral on social media. In the video, the female member was seen talking to the hawkers like not coming here, saying that they belonged to a particular community.
Not only this, the woman member was also asked to say Jai Shri Ram, while in return those people also asked the woman to say something on their behalf. The woman made a video of the conversation between the two parties and made it viral on social media. Within two-four days the video became so viral that it got million views. A community became angry over this video and the treatment meted out to the hawkers and the matter worsened. A police complaint was lodged against the woman by the hawkers and the woman apologized for her behaviour. Meanwhile, when the report of police and administrative investigation reached DC office Dharamshala, DC Kangra Hemraj Bairwa asked the woman to respond to the notice within a week.
The notice was replied to by the lady BDC member, but on review by DC Kangra the reply was found not satisfactory. Ultimately suspension orders of the woman member were issued. It has been said in the suspension order that the woman member has not discharged her duties properly, while there has been gross neglect in discharging the duties of the elected representative under the Panchayati Raj Act. Because of this the woman cannot continue in her post. Development Block Officer Sikandar Kumar, while confirming the orders, said that after suspension, if the Mahila Panchayat Samiti member has any movable or immovable property related to the Panchayat Samiti, then make sure to deposit it in the office of Development Block Officer Lambagaon
