Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Public Works, Health & Family Welfare and Information & Public Relations Department) Sanjay Awasthi said that our festivals are the basis of our life management and we all should participate enthusiastically in organizing our festivals. Sanjay Awasthi was addressing the annual festival organized on the occasion of Shri Lord Vishwakarma Day at Shalaghat in Arki assembly constituency of Solan today.
The Chief Parliamentary Secretary also offered prayers at Lord Vishwakarma Temple.
Sanjay Awasthi said that in Sanatan culture, Lord Vishwakarma has been honored with the title of architect of the gods. He is also known as the first engineer of the present. He said that from Lord Vishwakarma we get the message of moving forward in our life with creativity and positivity.
The Chief Parliamentary Secretary said that such programs provide an opportunity to the young generation to get acquainted with the craftsmen of our rich culture. Indian culture teaches everyone to move forward on the right path and the young generation has to imbibe this philosophy of their culture. He said that our traditions move forward with the active participation of the young generation in such events. Such events are currently important in increasing the feeling of goodwill, brotherhood and solidarity among the people.
He said that Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has set an exemplary example by leading the state with sensitivity in times of disaster. The Chief Minister himself is reaching various districts of the state and announcing relief packages for the rehabilitation of the affected people and is ensuring that the disaster affected people get timely relief. He said that today the state is emerging from this disaster due to the efficient leadership of the Chief Minister and the cooperation of the people of the state and the hard work of the officers and employees.
The Chief Parliamentary Secretary said that the state government is working towards making the young generation self-reliant by strengthening the education infrastructure. Basic education infrastructure is also being strengthened in Arki assembly constituency and work is being done at the higher level to provide better education to the students near their doorstep. M.A. History and English classes have been started in Government College, Arki. He said that to provide modern education in rural areas, Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding School is also being established in Arki Assembly constituency. 50 bighas of land has also been identified for this school to be established in Jalana at a cost of Rs 20 crore.
Sanjay Awasthi said that through the District Mineral Fund, an amount of about Rs 18 crore has been made available to Public Works, Jal Shakti and other departments for the development of Arki Assembly constituency. He said that every possible effort will be made to make Arki assembly constituency an ideal assembly constituency.
He said that the work of developing Baridhar, the center of faith of people along with Arki assembly constituency, from tourism point of view is in progress. A detailed project report of Rs 200 crore is being prepared to connect this religious place by ropeway. He said that 103 bighas of land has been identified for the tourism project in Baridhar.
He announced to give one lakh rupees for the preliminary work of construction of approach road of Lord Vishwakarma temple and one lakh rupees for the preliminary work of construction of dam. He also announced to give Rs 11,000 from his discretionary fund to the temple committee.
On this occasion, he listened to public problems and gave instructions for their proper disposal.

Basal, Harijan Kalyan Samiti President Chunni Lal Basal, former BDC President Jagdish Thakur, Devdhar Committee Chief Patron Hariram, Vishwakarma Temple Committee members Lekh Ram, Vicky, Sub Divisional Officer Arki Yadvinder Pal, Block Medical Officer Arki Dr. Tara Chand, various Villagers including officials of departments were present.
