According to the information received from the Baluganj fire station, the fire broke out in the Burj Cottage near Advance Study Chowk at around 2 pm. Apart from Baluganj, fire tenders were also called from Mall Road and Chhota Shimla to douse the fire. The fire was brought under control by 5 am with the help of three fire tenders. Short circuit has been the reason for the fire.
An official of Baluganj Fire Station said that the loss in the fire is estimated at Rs 15 lakh. While property worth 30 lakhs has been saved from burning. He said that there was no loss of life in this incident.
