A massive fire broke out in the Tara Devi area of the capital Shimla on Friday morning. According to the information, a fire broke out in a shop suddenly due to a short circuit at around 4:30 in the morning. Eyewitnesses said that suddenly smoke and flames rose with a loud explosion and in a short time the shop was completely engulfed in fire. During this time there was an atmosphere of chaos in the area and people started running here and there for help.
The local people immediately informed the fire department. As soon as the information was received, the fire department team reached the spot and after two hours of hard work till about 5:30 pm, the fire was brought under control. However, by then the goods kept in the shop had been completely burnt to ashes.
In this accident, shop owner Vishal has suffered a huge financial loss of about 30 to 32 lakh rupees. Vishal told that all the stock and goods kept in the shop have turned into ashes. There is an atmosphere of mourning and worry in the area after the incident.
As soon as the information about the fire was received, the officials of the Kachi Ghati Ghoda Chowki Vyapar Mandal also reached the spot. The President of the Vyapar Mandal Malkit Singh met the victim’s family and assured them of all possible help. He also demanded from the administration that proper relief and financial assistance be provided to the victim’s family immediately so that they can restart their business.
Local people say that if the fire brigade had not reached the spot on time, the fire could have spread to other shops nearby as well. For now, the fire has been controlled, but this accident has put the businessmen of the area in great worry.
