A one-day “First Aid Training Camp” was organized today for the students of Junior Red Cross at Government Senior Secondary School, Kasumpti , District Shimla under the joint aegis of Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross and District Red Cross Branch, Shimla.
In this training program, State Red Cross Master Trainers Dr. Kimi Sood and Dr. Ganga Sharma provided detailed information to the students about various first aid techniques such as artificial respiration ( CPR), methods to stop bleeding , first aid in case of burns and fractures and life saving measures in emergency situations.
On this occasion, State Red Cross JRC/YRC Coordinator Shri Virendra Singh Bisht informed the students about the activities being run under Junior Red Cross and appealed to more and more students to join it. While addressing about first aid, Shri Virendra Singh Bisht said that knowledge of first aid is very important for students. It not only makes them self-reliant in emergency situations , but also strengthens the spirit of social service.
The school management also motivated the students saying that first aid training is an important step towards making the youth responsible citizens.
In this training camp, 50 students of Junior Red Cross, along with teachers participated enthusiastically and found it to be a very beneficial experience.
