Keeping people’s health in mind during festivals, the Food Safety Department is keeping a close watch on spoiled sweets. Under this campaign, the Food Safety Department of the Municipal Corporation in the city took strict action when spoiled Petha was found in a sweet shop, and the team got 20 kg Petha thrown away on the spot.
Apart from this, many shops in the city were inspected and samples of 10 sweets were also collected. Samples were sent to C.T.L. The lab has been sent to Kandaghat. The report will come to the department from here in 15 days, after which further action will be taken. During the inspection in the city, the team also checked the cleanliness system in many shops and also checked the licenses on the spot.
The team headed by Food Safety Officer Deeksha Kapil inspected the sweet shops in the city. During this, samples of Gujiya, Kalakand, Balushahi, Green and Red Chutney, Chamcham, Barfi, Shakkar Para, Milk Cake and Khoya were also filled. This action of the department has created a stir among the sweet shopkeepers in the city.
The departmental team checked the arrangements for keeping sweets in shops in Kotlanala, Mall Road, Upper Bazaar, Main Bazaar and other places and collected samples. During the action, the department team also made the shopkeepers aware that they should not sell colorful sweets. If anyone is found selling such sweets, then action is being taken by the department as per rules.
