Kullu: To promote environmental awareness and cleanliness, the Forest Department has launched a unique initiative inviting youths to create creative and message-driven videos on unexplored tourist destinations, nature parks and wildlife sanctuaries in the district. Selected participants will receive a cash incentive of ₹2,000.
According to the department, videos highlighting natural beauty, biodiversity, developmental activities or positive messages related to cleanliness will be given preference. Participants can submit their entries to the concerned forest officials, and selected videos will be showcased on the department’s official website.
Officials said the initiative aims not only to promote tourism but also to instill a sense of responsibility towards nature among citizens. Youth participation can play a key role in spreading awareness about cleanliness, environmental conservation and the importance of forest resources through creative mediums.
Sandeep Sharma, Conservator of Forests, Kullu Circle, said several youths have already submitted videos, with some focusing on how to maintain cleanliness in parks developed by the Forest Department.
