Solan, Feb 17
The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau of Himachal Pradesh has arrested a forest guard for allegedly accepting a ₹5,000 bribe in the Baddi area of Solan district.
The accused, posted in the Dabhota beat under the Nalagarh forest division, had reportedly demanded money from a complainant to drop action in a tree-cutting case. Following a complaint, the Vigilance team laid a trap in Baddi and caught the official red-handed while accepting the bribe.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of DSP Vigilance Dr. Pratibha Chauhan. The bribe amount was recovered on the spot.
A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is underway. The accused will be produced before the court as per legal procedure.
