Amit Kashyap to be the member
Shimla
Retired IAS officer RD Dhiman, who was the Chief Secretary and Chief Information Commissioner of Himachal Pradesh, will be the new chairman of the State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). Amit Kashyap has been made the member. A notification has been issued by the government in this regard. Vidur Mehta has already taken over as the member. Now, after a long time, the quorum in RERA has been completed.
Let us tell you, on June 20, the state High Court imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on the state government for the delay in the appointment of the chairman and member of RERA. The court had also reprimanded the poor functioning. The court had said that the appointment is not being delayed under the pretext of shifting the office. The division bench gave strict instructions that if the names of the chairman and member are not notified by June 25, then a judicial order will be passed against it. After the court’s reprimand, now the government has made appointments in RERA.
