Four person in the state has tested postive from Scrub Typhus , infectious disease caused by the bite of mites an insect which was found in the green shrub and vegetation areas. The Scrub Typhus disease is curable using antibiotics but it can get hand out if diagnosis delayed.
Scrub Typhus spreads when Chigger mites found in forest and now urban shrubs bite a person and inject a micro -organism called Rickettsia tsutsugamushi into the blood . A blood test can conform the ordering of infection but sometimes doctor treat it without blood testing .
It is noted that earlier these diseases are suspected in the people who use to travel to forest but now many people living in the cities are testing positive.
Senior Medical Superintendent, Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Dr Janak Raj said that out of 84 sample tested for scrub typhus this session four are tested positive for viral infection.
If this disease not cured within 14 to 21 days then cause severe infection which can be complicated and lead to the problems like interstitial pneumonia,conjunctive heart failure , circulatory collapsed and a wide array of sign and symptoms of central nervous system dysfunction including delirium , confusion and seizures .
Symptoms
Once transmitted ,RT incubates for about 14 -21 days. After that infected person gets headache , cough , fever and vomiting.
Black spot scar anywhere in the infected place
Precautions:
Cut the green wild vegetation and bushes
Cover your bodies parts when going to any forest place
Any kind bite consult your doctor
Keep your home surrounding clean
