Free Injection at Junga Hospital Saves 32-Year-Old from Heart Attack
Shimla, February 11:
Doctors at Civil Hospital Junga saved the life of a 32-year-old man after he suffered a serious heart attack.
Sunil Kumar, a resident of Dhaliana village near Junga, felt severe chest pain on Monday. His family quickly brought him to the hospital. Medical In-Charge Dr. Manoj Verma said that Dr. Priyanka and staff nurse Ambika immediately conducted an ECG test, which confirmed a heart attack.
The doctors quickly gave Sunil a Tenecteplase injection, which helped reduce the blockage and relieved his pain. Dr. Verma said that the injection costs around ₹40,000 in the market but is provided free of cost in government hospitals under the STEMI Project. He explained that if this injection is given within four hours of a heart attack, it can save the patient’s life.
After initial treatment at Civil Hospital Junga, Sunil was referred to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla for further care. He is now stable and recovering.
Sunil thanked the doctors and hospital staff for saving his life. Doctors have advised people to seek immediate medical help if they experience severe chest pain, as timely treatment can prevent serious complications.
