Double engine government made available benefits of government schemes to every household
Food and Civil Supplies Minister Rajendra Garg said that the Jai Ram government has worked for welfare of poor people in himachal. The Jai Ram government has started public welfare schemes in the state. Garg said that the double engine government of the Center and the state not only started new schemes but also extended the benefits of those schemes to every household.
Rajendra Garg said that our government has worked to fulfill every need of the poor. It ranges from medical treatment, education, home, clean water, free electricity and social security to the people of himchal pradesh.
Through Himcare scheme, even the poorest of the poor can get their treatment done in the biggest hospital today.
Under the Sahara scheme, financial assistance to 3 thousands rupees is being given to the person who are dependent on others. Such schemes have been started by the Jairam government of the state, which earlier governments could not even think of.
Rajendra Garg said that our government has arranged cheap ration for poor people under NFSA. There are more than 30 lakh beneficiaries under the National Security Act in the state. Arrangements have been made to ensure that people get cheap ration and good ration. Under this, poor person is being given three rupees per kg rice, 3.20 rupees per kg flour. Apart from this, APL families are getting rice 10 rupees and flour 9.20 rupees per kg. The government is running schemes so that the poor person does not face any kind of problem.
Food and supply Minister said that three pulses, two liters of edible oil, salt, sugar are being provided to all the families of the state. For this year our government has allocated a budget of Rs 215 crore. Subsidy on edible oils has also been increased. BPL families have now been given a discount of Rs 20 and APL families by Rs 10. Fortification of flour, salt and oil is being done by the department so that nutritious food is available to the people of the state.
The Central Government started the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana to ensure that no person sleeps hungry during the lockdown. Under the scheme, 5 kg food grains per person were distributed free of cost to all the beneficiaries. Our government distributed food grains worth Rs 366 crores in 2020-21 and Rs 435 crores in 2021-22.
The system of One Nation One Ration Card has been implemented in Himachal. Due to this, migrant laborers are not facing any problem in getting ration from government depots. From May 2020 to September 2022, about 33 thousand consumers have taken advantage of this scheme.
Garg said that the central government gave free gas connections under the Ujjwala scheme. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur started Grihini Suvidha Yojna so that all the families of the state could get gas connections. Today, our government has done the work of providing LPG connection to 3 lakh 41 thousands houses in the state. Due to this resolve, Himachal Pradesh has become the first smoke free state of the country.
* ‘Procurement of paddy and wheat on MSP’*
Rajendra Garg said that the government has taken another historic step. Our government has worked for the farmers to get a fair price for their crops. For the first time in Himachal, the government has made arrangements to buy wheat and paddy at MSP. Garg said that the BJP government of the state has developed the state by staying close to the poor. With the blessings of the people, this time again the government of Bharatiya Janata Party will be formed in Himachal pardesh.
