Dr Pankaj Vaidya from Computer Sciences, Dr Pankaj Kumar Chauhan from the School of Bioengineering and Food Technology and Mr. Ishwar Das from the Accounts Department have emerged as the winners of the much-awaited prestigious Golden Rudraksha Awards 2023.
The awards, which were presented at a ceremony on Wednesday, recognized outstanding contributions in the categories of leadership, faculty and staff at the university.
The selection process involved five finalists in each of the three categories. The finalists for leadership included Dr. Saurabh Kulshreshtha, Dr. Neeraj Gandotra, and Brigadier SD Mehta and Dr Purnima Bali, alongside the final winner Dr Pankaj Vaidya. The faculty category featured finalists Dr. Chander Mohan Gupta, Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Dr. Namita Gandotra, and Prof. Pankaj Kumar Chauhan, with the award ultimately going to Dr. Pankaj Kumar Chauhan. In the staff category, the finalists were Ms. Anshul, Ms. Alice Manju Baxla, Ms. Neelam, Mr. Ishwar Dass and Mr. Prem Bhatti with Mr. Ishwar Das emerging as the winner. The students support award was given to the e-univ team of Shoolini University and Mr. Lokendra Singh got the e-univ star performer award.
Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, President of the Foundation for Life Sciences and Business Management Mrs. Saroj Khosla, Pro-Chancellor Mr. Vishal Anand and President, of Distance and Online Education, Mr. Ashish Khosla presented the awards to the winners at a ceremony.
The awards are determined through confidential voting by faculty and staff members who evaluate the contestants on leadership qualities, teaching excellence, and exceptional staff contributions. The accolade is symbolized by a garland crafted from rudrakshas harvested from a tree planted by former President APJ Abdul Kalam Azad during his inaugural visit for the University’s First Convocation.
A fun quiz for faculty members was also organized during the Award distribution ceremony.
