Shimla:
The Himachal Pradesh High Court has issued a notice to former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur and police personnel deployed in his security on a petition seeking directions to register an FIR against them under the IPC.
The petition was filed by retired Himachal Road Transport Corporation employee and former president of the Himachal Transport Mazdoor Union Shankar Singh Thakur, who alleged criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and assault causing serious injuries.
Justice Rakesh Kainthla, after hearing the matter, issued notices to the alleged accused as well as the state government.
According to the petition, the complainant had earlier submitted a complaint to the SHO of Police Station Beri (Barmana) in Bilaspur district, but no FIR was registered. He subsequently approached the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bilaspur, seeking directions to the Station House Officer of Barmana police station to register an FIR against Jairam Thakur and others.
