A review meeting of the District Child Welfare and Protection Committee and the Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana was held here today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap. In the meeting, the progress of activities related to child welfare and protection at the district level was reviewed and necessary guidelines were given to ensure the overall development and protection of children.
In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that under the Mukhyamantri Sukh Aashray Yojana, facilities for better life, security, education and rehabilitation are being provided to the children. He directed the concerned departments to regularly monitor all the beneficiaries associated with the scheme and fulfill the needs of the children on priority basis.
The District Magistrate said that health cards will be made for all the children living in the child care institute of District Shimla so that in case of illness, the health of those children can be looked after properly. He said that for making health cards of these children, health cards of all will be made after completing the formalities. He said that individual files of all the children living in the child care institute will be made in which all their records will be kept. He directed the departmental officers to update it from time to time.
From January 2025 till now, a total of 10 children have been handed over to adoptive parents. From January 2 to January 14, educational tours were organized for the children of Goa, Delhi Agra, Chandigarh Bal Ashram Tutikandi and Balika Ashram Mashobra. Repair work is going on at Bal Ashram Masli in Rohru at a cost of Rs 25 lakh. Additional building construction work will start soon in Overhaul Home Hiranagar. So far, the work of marking has been completed here on June 18. Under Mission Vatsalya, there are 10 Bal Balika Ashram cum Children’s Home in Shimla district. Apart from this, there is a special adoption agency and an overhaul home. 399 children are living in them. Cards are being made for the children living here under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. So far 244 social investigation reports have been submitted by the department. Apart from this, a record of 389 private care plans has been kept. Clothes, bedding, food items are being provided to the children as per their requirement. Along with this, food is also provided as per the prescribed standards. Clean drinking water is being provided through RO in CCI Child Care Institute. Skill development training is given to children in which training has been given in beauty parlor, soft toy, front office, bakery, computer software and hardware and art and craft. 212 have been trained under skill development training. The Deputy Commissioner said that apart from this, children will also be provided training through the leading district general manager. Counseling sessions are also organized in CCI. On Yoga Day on June 21, programs were organized in all CCIs. 35 children have been given benefits under the Sponsorship Assistant for Children Scheme. From January to June 2025, 101 new admissions have been done in CCI.
Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana
There are 336 beneficiaries outside under the Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashraya Yojana. Out of these, 281 have been provided financial assistance of about one crore rupees. While in CCI, 292 beneficiaries have been provided financial assistance of about 33 lakhs. 2 lakh 71 thousand rupees have been issued to the Children of the State for celebrating festivals. 75 thousand rupees have been issued in four cases for marriage. While 17 lakh rupees have been issued for house construction in 18 cases. So far, financial assistance of one crore 63 lakh forty thousand 494 rupees has been provided under the Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashraya Yojana.
after care scheme
32 children have benefited under the After Care Scheme. This includes 12 boys and 20 girls. 8 boys and girls have done Electrician, Fitter, Motor Mechanic, Computer Operating and Programming Assistant, Food and Beverage Course from ITI Jubbal, Rampur, Chail, Shimla and Pragatinagar Gumma. Apart from this, 18 boys and girls have done BSc, BA, BCom and BVoc Course from RKMV, Rohru, Dhami, Nerwa, Sanjauli, Kotshera College. 2 boys have done Hotel Management Diploma from IHM Kufri. 4 girls are studying in Mashobra School.
