The Directorate of School Education in Himachal Pradesh has promoted 56 lecturers and headmasters to the post of Principal, including Geetanjali Kashyap, daughter of Cabinet Minister Dhani Ram Shandil.
Geetanjali Kashyap was serving as a lecturer at DIET Solan and was recently granted a six-month service extension. Following this, promotion orders issued on February 28 elevated her from Lecturer to Principal. She will receive financial benefits from December 2025. Separate posting orders for the promoted officers will be issued by the Directorate. However, her transfer orders have not yet been released.
Geetanjali Kashyap is married to Dr. Rajesh Kashyap, who was the BJP candidate from Solan in previous elections.
One-Year Extension for IGMC Principal
Meanwhile, the government has granted a one-year service extension to Dr. Sita Thakur, Principal of Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC).
Dr. Thakur was scheduled to retire on February 28, but with the extension, she will now continue in her position until February 28, 2027. She will officially retire from government service upon completion of the extended term.
