Despite being the largest hospital in the city, IGMC has the most impoverished hospital system since patients aren’t even provided with beds. In the wards, two patients are being assigned to a single bed due to the current circumstances.
Surprisingly, two patients are kept alive on one bed even in hospitals like Ortho, medicine and heart even though patients in Ortho and heart wards require beds the most. When the patient gets treatment in an environment that is pleasant. Keeping two patients in one bed in such a scenario is also causing problems for the patients. In addition, the state of affairs is same in the other wards too.
Two patients are being assigned to one bed because of the high patient volume, according to the hospital management. Even the patients are having issues because of the current circumstances. In addition to OPD, the hospital’s patient admission rate is steadily rising. Every day, thousands of people seek care at IGMC Hospital.
The hospital also receives patients for checkups from other areas of the state. Additionally, there is insufficient space for the attendants who accompany the patients to remain. Outside the room, the attendants must wait for the patient. Nighttime presents the greatest challenges for the attendants.
On talking with Crazy News India team Senior Medical Superintendent Dr. Rahul Rao of IGMC Shimla, shares ” for treatment, patients come from all across the state to IGMC. The management of the hospital does all in its power to guarantee that the admitted patients are given beds. As a result, patients are frequently detained in double rooms since there aren’t enough available beds. No patient is discharged without receiving care. Every attempt is being made to treat every patient more effectively”.
