The heat will trouble the people of Himachal Pradesh. The sun will burn fiercely in the hilly state that remains cold. India’s Meteorological Center Shimla has issued a heat-wave alert from March to May. During this, the maximum and minimum temperature will be an average of 1.5 degrees above normal.
In many areas it can be 2-3 degrees more. Due to the heat wave, people in the plains will be forced to hide in their homes during the day. In some areas of Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi, heat wave will disturb the people. Due to this, school children can also face problems while coming home from school.
In the month of February this year itself, 6 cities (Shimla, Dharamshala, Manali, Solan and Bhuntar) have broken heat records of 5 decades. Even now, the temperature of many cities of the state is running above normal by 2 to 7 degrees.
Dalhousie’s mercury is 6.3 degrees above normal
According to the Meteorological Center Shimla, Dalhousie recorded a minimum temperature of 10.5 degrees Celsius last night, which is 6.3 degrees above normal. Bilaspur also recorded a minimum temperature of 14 degrees with 6.2 degrees above normal, Shimla 10.2 degrees with 3.7 degrees above normal, Manali 5.8 degrees with 3.2 degrees above normal.
Similarly, the temperature of all other cities is running above normal. If this trend continues further, then this time the summer of the mountains can be challenging. A major reason for the high temperature is believed to be very little rain-snowfall in winter. Due to this, there may be shortage of water for drinking and irrigation in the coming days. The crops of farmers and gardeners may also have to bear the brunt of drought.
The Meteorological Department has predicted bad weather for the next 3 days from today. Yellow alert for thunderstorms has also been issued in some areas for the next 72 hours from today.
