In Himachal Pradesh, there is heavy snowfall in the mountains and torrential rain in the plains. The peaks of Lahaul Spiti, Kullu and Chamba districts are once again covered with a white sheet of snow. Fresh snow fell 8.5 cm in Gondla, 2.6 cm in Keylong, 3-3 cm in Rohtang and Sisu. On the other hand, Dalhousie, an inaccessible area of Chamba, recorded maximum rainfall of 81 mm in the last 24 hours.
Meteorological Center Shimla has issued a fresh alert. According to this, light snowfall may occur in the higher reaches of Chamba, Kangra, Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur, Kullu and Shimla districts till 12 noon today. On the other hand, there is forecast of rain in Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Bilaspur, Solan, Kinnaur and Shimla districts.
On the other hand, a thunderstorm warning was issued in some areas of Hamirpur, Una and Sirmaur.
Cold has increased after fresh snowfall in higher areas of the state. Keylong’s minimum temperature again went to minus. Shimla’s minimum temperature dropped to 6.6 degrees, Una 11, Manali 4.8 degrees, Solan 9.5 degrees, Dalhousie 2.9 degrees, Kufri 3.2 degrees, Kukumsairi 1.1 degrees, Narkanda 2.2 degrees.
Falling temperature has increased the worries of apple and stone fruit growers. Due to this, clouds of crisis have started hovering over flowering in low and medium altitude areas, because it is necessary to have high and stable temperature during flowering.
Theog’s progressive gardener Mahendra Verma said that the rains in the higher areas are not harmful yet, but in the areas below 7000 feet where flowering has started, bad weather is a cause of concern.
