Karsog, July 24
High fever and joint pain during the rainy season can also be a disease of scrub typhus. Block Medical Officer Karsog Dr. Gopal Chauhan informed that scrub typhus is also called joint fever.
He said that the main organisms that spread it are fleas, which are found on animals like wild rats, cats, dogs, and squirrels living in green grass.
The block medical officer said that when an infected flea bites a human, this bacteria enters the human body, causing scrub typhus.
These are the symptoms.
He said that it appears with symptoms like high fever, headache, body pain, and sometimes a rash on the body. Fever can start within 6 to 21 days of a flea bite. Apart from this, there may be a black scab at the place of the flea bite. Scrub typhus is detected only through blood tests. Antibiotics like doxycycline, azithromycin, or chloramphenicol are used for its treatment. While making people aware, he said that to avoid scrub typhus, stay away from bushes and grassy areas around the house and wear clothes that cover the body. Treatment for scrub typhus is available, but if the patient goes to the hospital too late, then the treatment becomes difficult.
Be careful and alert.
He has urged people to be careful and alert about it. He said that if any symptoms of this type are found, contact your nearest health center. So that it can be treated in time.
