Shimla:
The Himachal Pradesh government has excluded the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau from the ambit of the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005. The notification in this regard was issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms on March 12.
According to the notification, the decision has been taken by the Governor under Section 24(4) of the RTI Act, which allows certain organisations to be exempted from the law’s purview. With this move, information related to the functioning of the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau will no longer be accessible through RTI.
