Shimla, April 2, 2026:
The Himachal Pradesh Government has officially revised toll rates for various categories of vehicles for the financial year 2026–27. The State Taxes and Excise Department issued a notification dated April 2, 2026, under the Himachal Pradesh Tolls Act, 1975, announcing updated rates applicable from April 1, 2026.

As per the notification, passenger vehicles (up to 12+1 capacity, excluding private vehicles registered in Himachal Pradesh) will now be charged ₹100 per day. Light commercial vehicles, mini buses, and certain goods vehicles will face a toll of ₹320 per day, while commercial vehicles with three axles (up to 45,000 kg GVW) will be charged ₹570 per day.
Quarterly and yearly toll options have also been revised, with rates calculated as multiples of the daily charges. The government stated that these changes aim to streamline toll collection and improve road infrastructure management.
Relief for Local Vehicle Owners
In a significant राहत, all light vehicles—whether private or commercial (including taxis)—registered within Himachal Pradesh have been exempted from toll charges for the year 2026–27 under Schedule-II.
The Commissioner of State Taxes & Excise has directed all concerned authorities to implement the revised toll policy and inform toll operators for immediate compliance.
The move is expected to impact commercial transporters while offering relief to local residents using light vehicles.
