Shimla: Good news for candidates seeking jobs in the Postal Department in Himachal Pradesh. The India Post has invited applications for the recruitment of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts in the state. The key highlight of this recruitment is that no written examination will be conducted.
How many posts will be filled?
A total of 331 GDS posts have been announced for Himachal Pradesh. The Postal Directorate has also issued an official notification regarding the recruitment process. Interested candidates can apply before the last date.
Recruitment will be completely digital
The entire recruitment process will be conducted online. The 331 posts are distributed category-wise as follows:
Unreserved (UR): 137
OBC: 62
Scheduled Caste (SC): 83
Scheduled Tribe (ST): 12
EWS: 37
Application dates
The online application process will begin on February 10, 2026, and will continue until March 3, 2026.
Candidates who make any mistakes in their application will get an opportunity for correction from March 6 to March 8, 2026. No applications will be accepted after the deadline.

Selection process
Candidates will be selected purely on the basis of merit. No written test will be held for selection.
Age limit
The age limit for applicants is 18 to 40 years. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved category candidates as per government rules.
