Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) has released the list of guest faculty selected in the interview. According to the list released on Thursday, 17 guest faculty have been selected on the basis of merit. Interviews for guest faculty were held on 11th and 12th September. More than 150 candidates had participated in it. The Dean of Studies has released the list and has given instructions to the selected guest faculty to teach the students from Friday itself.
As soon as the selection process is completed, the university will implement the decision taken in the EC meeting held on August 29. Under this, Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors serving in the departments on regular basis will no longer take classes as guest faculty on per lecture basis. Only in case guest faculty is not available or in special circumstances, regular teachers will be able to take classes in other departments as guest faculty.
University Dean Studies Prof. BK Shivram said that after the completion of the interview process, the list of candidates found eligible for guest faculty under UGC rules has been released. They will be given the job of teaching in classes from Friday itself.
With the completion of the guest faculty selection process, studies will now be possible in new departments where teachers were not available. The course will also be completed on time. Under UGC rules, guest faculty will be given an honorarium of Rs 1,000 per lecture. They will do substitute teaching work until permanent appointment is made.
