On the directions of the Hon’ble Industries Minister, a comprehensive review meeting was held to assess the progress of infrastructure works for the upcoming Bulk Drug Park (BDP) at Polian Beet, Haroli, District Una. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Yunus, Commissioner of Industries-cum-CEO, Himachal Pradesh Bulk Drug Park Infrastructure Limited (HPBDPIL), along with Sh. Tilak Raj Sharma, Additional Director Industries-cum-Additional CEO, HPBDPIL.
The review focused on critical components including groundwater-based water supply, power supply, construction of the access road, and enumeration and felling of trees by the Forest Department. Infrastructure works amounting to over ₹200 crore are currently underway. Senior officers from key line departments—HPPWD, HPTCL, HPSEBL, Jal Shakti Vibhag, and the Forest Department—presented detailed updates on their respective areas.
Following the meeting, officials inspected the rising mains and charging structures and expressed satisfaction with the progress of works being executed by the Jal Shakti Vibhag.
Department-wise progress shared during the meeting is as follows:
1. Water Supply Works:
The Superintending Engineer, Jal Shakti Vibhag, Shri Naresh Dhiman, informed that approximately 95% of the work for providing 15 MLD water supply to the Bulk Drug Park has been completed. He assured that the remaining work will be completed and the system made operational by the end of March 2026.
2. Power Supply Works:
The Executive Engineer, HPSEBL, Shri Rahul Puri, apprised that the upgradation of the Gurpalah Sub-Station has been completed. Work on the required transmission infrastructure is currently in progress. He assured that arrangements for providing a 10 MVA power supply to the Bulk Drug Park site will be completed by April 2026.
3. Enumeration and Felling of Trees:
The Divisional Forest Officer, Shri Sushil Rana, informed that tree enumeration work is progressing at a fast pace. Enumeration for four khasra numbers in Village Manuwal has already been completed, and permission for felling of trees for these khasra numbers has been obtained. The tender process for tree felling is being undertaken by HPSIDC. The Executive Engineer, HPSIDC, informed that tenders have been opened, bidders have applied, and the tree felling process will be initiated shortly.
4. Access Road to the Bulk Drug Park:
The Director of Industries-cum-CEO, HPBDPIL, informed that as decided in the last High-Powered Committee meeting, construction of the road from the Administrative Block at Panjuwana to the Bulk Drug Park site at Village Kuthar Beet will be executed by the Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (HPPWD). Necessary directions have already been issued to the concerned department.
Emphasizing the importance of timely completion, Dr. Yunus directed all departments to expedite pending works, strengthen inter-departmental coordination, and ensure adherence to quality and environmental standards. He reiterated that the Bulk Drug Park is a flagship industrial project of the State, expected to significantly enhance pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity and generate substantial employment opportunities in the region.
The meeting concluded with all departments reaffirming their commitment to accelerate progress and ensure seamless execution of works. HPBDPIL will continue to closely monitor developments through periodic review meetings.
