Shimla, State Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi is adept in giving his opinion on every subject of the state government except his department, state spokesperson Chetan Singh Bragta said.
He said that in the last apple season, the Horticulture Minister took a policy decision that gardeners will not be able to sell apples above 24 kg in boxes. Leave alone outside Himachal, the government could not implement this decision even in the fruit markets of Himachal Pradesh. The Horticulture Minister kept the gardeners confused during the entire apple season. It should be made clear to the public whether the bills purchased by HPMC and HIMFED under MIS have been paid for or not?
It is important to clarify before the public whether the government is still giving subsidy to the gardeners on the equipment used in gardening.
This year, due to the disaster caused by heavy rains, the crops of the gardeners were destroyed, and the gardens of many people were destroyed. Did you give compensation to those people and if so how much, the Horticulture Minister should tell this because he also has the Revenue Department.
Chetan Bragta said that these days another narrative is being spread among the public by the Horticulture Minister that we will bring universal carton in the next season. Bagwan wants to know if you have talked to the coordinated manufacturers (companies that make cartons) and discussed this issue with other state governments. So that apples can be sold without any problem in the fruit markets of Himachal Pradesh and other states as well. The gardeners of the state want to know this from the Horticulture Minister.
