Teachers working in government schools of Himachal will no longer go to the Education Directorate or Secretariat with mail. The government has taken this decision because studies in schools are being affected due to the absence of teachers. The government has reduced the burden of non-teaching work being taken from teachers. Instructing the officials to collect information from the website, they have also banned calling teachers with the data. Education Secretary Rakesh Kanwar has issued instructions in this regard to the Project Directorate of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan including the Director of Elementary and Higher Education. Officers of all branches of the Directorate and branches attached to the Education Department in the Secretariat have also been asked to follow the orders. It is clearly stated in the instructions that letters should not be issued asking for any kind of unnecessary information from teachers. Officials can collect data from here. Correspondence should be stopped merely for the sake of formality. Many times a letter is issued from the Directorate or Secretariat to the concerned school or teacher regarding RTI or court case. Whereas this record is also available on the website. Teachers are wasting their time in such work. This also affects children’s education. Teachers have also been banned from carrying mail to the directorate or secretariat. If necessary, the Principal or Headmaster has been asked to issue a written order and send it to the teachers. The concerned authorities have also been warned against taking action in case the rules are not followed. Teachers can also provide information related to the assembly proceedings through email or WhatsApp. There is no need to visit the directorate or secretariat.
