Shimla, February 17:
The Himachal Pradesh Government has nominated new non-official members to the Regional Transport Authorities (RTA) of Una, Kangra, and Dehra districts. The notification was issued by the Department of Transport under Section 68 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
As per the notification, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh approved the appointments in continuation of an earlier order dated May 29, 2023.
For RTA Una, Naveen Dutta of VPO Khad, Tehsil Haroli, and Vivek Kumar of VPO Rainsari, District Una, have been nominated as members.
In RTA Kangra, Nageshwar Mankotia of VPO Samirpur and Suresh Kumar of VPO Sidhwari, Tehsil Dharamshala, have been appointed.
For RTA Dehra, Suresh Kumar (Pappi) of Village Surajpur, Tehsil Dehra, and Pawan Kumar of VPO Haripur, Tehsil Haripur, have been nominated.
The non-official members will hold office for a period of two years from the date of appointment. They will also be entitled to travelling and halting allowances as per Rule 56 of the Himachal Pradesh Motor Vehicles Rules, 1999.
The move aims to strengthen the functioning of Regional Transport Authorities in the concerned districts.
