Hamirpur: Himachal Pradesh Technical University has announced that the Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) for the academic session 2026–27 will be conducted on May 9 and 10.
Registrar and Controller of Examinations Anupam Thakur said that the entrance examinations will be held in multiple sessions over two days.
On May 9, the entrance exams for B.Sc. HM&CT/BHMCT and M.Sc. Environmental Science will be conducted in the morning session from 9 am to 11 am.
On May 10, the M.Sc. Physics entrance test will be held from 9 am to 11 am, while B.Tech and B.Pharmacy exams will take place from 9 am to 12:15 pm. The entrance examinations for MCA, MBA and MBA (Tourism) will be conducted in the evening session from 2 pm to 4 pm.
The university authorities informed that details regarding the application form format, eligibility criteria and other admission-related information will be released soon on the official website.
Special chance for degree backlog candidates
In a separate decision, the university has provided a special opportunity to candidates who could not complete their degree or pass within the stipulated time limit to appear in the May/June 2026 examinations.
The Controller of Examinations said that candidates of old and new syllabi from first to eighth semester of B.Tech and B.Pharmacy (Allopathy/Ayurveda) can apply offline for the examination till March 20.
Additionally, candidates under the CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) scheme — including B.Pharmacy (first to eighth semester) and M.Pharmacy and M.Tech (first to fourth semester) — have also been granted a special chance to appear in the examinations.
