Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, under the leadership of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, organized a special training session on Manupatra, India’s premier legal research platform, on 25th August 2025. The session was aimed at enhancing the legal research capabilities of students, particularly those in their foundational year.
The session was conducted by Ms. Sameeksha Vaishnava, Legal Editor & Outreach Coordinator at Manupatra, who joined virtually to deliver a comprehensive and insightful walkthrough on navigating legal databases, accessing case laws, statutory materials, and relevant secondary resources.
Th event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 75 students across batches. While the session primarily catered to first-year students to introduce them to the essentials of legal research, students from senior batches also benefited significantly from the introduction to advanced tools and features applicable to moot court preparations, internships, and academic writing such as dissertations. The interactive nature of the session encouraged active student participation, with many attendees engaging in real-time queries and discussions.
The training was organized by Mr. Kartik Sharma, Student of LL.B. course and Campus Ambassador – Manupatra. The event proved to be a valuable learning experience, contributing meaningfully to the academic development of students by equipping them with a fundamental skill set vital for their legal education and future professional pursuits.
