HPSPCB has announced an Enviro-Ideation Hackathon 2023 on the theme “Waste to Wonder”, from May 15, 2023, to June 5, 2023.
The aim is to engage undergraduate and above students from Himachal Pradesh in finding innovative solutions to address critical environmental challenges such as solid waste, plastic waste, e-waste, and C&D waste, Anil Joshi Member Secretary said.
In this event, the participants will have the opportunity to work in teams and develop ground-breaking solutions that will contribute to the preservation and conservation of our environment.
The hackathon will run for a duration of three weeks, starting from registration & submission date 15th May 2023 (9,00AM) to grand finale on 5th June 2023. Our field offices (Regional Offices and Laboratories) shall guide the participants throughout their ideation process. The participation team shall have a maximum of 3 members, Joshi said.
The Ideation Hackathon offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to students to win cash prizes The first-place team will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 75,000/-, the second-place team will receive Rs. 50,000/-, and the third-place team will be granted Rs. 25,000/-. Further teams placed at 4th 5th and 6th shall receive cash prize @Rs. 10,000/- each and teams placed at 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th shall also receive cash prize @Rs. 5,000/- each, Joshi informed.
In addition to the monetary rewards, the winning teams will also be presented with trophies and certificates in recognition of their outstanding contributions, he added.
The students from various disciplines, including engineering, environmental sciences, computer science, and business, to participate and contribute their diverse perspectives, Joshi said.
