Shimla, April 12
Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) has approved a revised examination fee structure for the upcoming academic session 2026-27, effective from July 1, 2026. The decision was taken following recommendations of the Finance Committee and approval by the Executive Council.


As per the notification, examination fees across undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional courses have been revised, with separate charges for regular and private/re-appear candidates.
For undergraduate courses, B.A. students will now pay ₹1200 plus ₹200 for practicals, while B.Com and B.Sc. students will be charged ₹1800 plus ₹200. Professional courses like B.Tech will attract ₹3000 plus ₹800, whereas BCA and BBA students will pay ₹1200.
In postgraduate programmes, M.A. and M.Com fees have been set between ₹1500 and ₹1800 plus ₹300, while MBA, MCA, and MTA students will pay ₹2250. Science students under M.Sc. will be charged ₹1800, with higher fees applicable for specialised courses like Biotechnology and Microbiology.
Medical and allied courses such as MBBS, BDS, MD, and MS will have an examination fee of ₹2000 per paper.
The university has also revised miscellaneous charges, including re-evaluation, migration certificates, transcripts, and late submission penalties. Late examination form submission could now attract penalties ranging from ₹1800 to ₹50,000, depending on the delay.
HPU officials said the revision aims to streamline examination processes and meet administrative costs. The updated fee structure will be applicable to all affiliated colleges and departments from the next academic session.
