Mandi
A tragic road accident took place in Sarkaghat of the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh this morning. A bus of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) fell into a deep gorge near Masren in Sarkaghat. 20 to 25 people travelling in the bus are reported to be injured in this accident, some of whom are said to be in critical condition. A 16-year-old youth died in this accident, and the condition of two other women also remains critical. The DSP has confirmed the death.
The accident took place at a turn near Trangala village in Masren at around 9 am. It is being said that the bus went out of control from the turn and fell into the gorge. As soon as the news of the accident was received, the local people immediately started rescue work. The DSP of Sarkaghat has also left for the spot and has confirmed the accident.
Madhu, a woman from Trangala village, said that this accident happened near her house. At present, the work of taking the injured to the nearest hospital is going on. The reasons for the accident are being investigated, but according to initial information, this accident happened due to loss of control on the turn. Police and administration teams are present on the spot and relief and rescue work is going on.
Former CM Jairam Thakur said the bus accident in Mandi was very sad, and I pray to God for everyone’s well-being. The administration is requested to make proper arrangements for the treatment of the injured.
