SDM Shimla Urban to prepare plans for monsoon preparations in his area
A review meeting regarding monsoon preparations in Shimla city was held here today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the SDM to identify disaster-prone areas within Shimla city and to ensure all types of stockpiles are in place before a disaster strikes.
He said that all departments will work together and with urgency to address the damage caused by the monsoon in the city. He said that the Public Works Department and municipal bodies have been instructed to ensure smooth drainage in the drains within their jurisdictions.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the SDM to make detailed preparations for storing essential commodities. He also directed them to ensure that immediate reporting of disaster damage is prioritized.
