Quiz and poster competitions highlight the importance of quality standards and safety in pharmaceutical manufacturing

Baddi, October 10: The School of Pharmacy at IEC University celebrated the Fourth National cGMP Day at the university auditorium on October 10, 2026, to sensitise students to the importance of quality standards, safety and regulatory compliance in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The programme was organised around the theme, “Quality Manufacturing for a Safer and Healthier World.” It aimed to familiarise students with safe drug manufacturing practices, quality control and adherence to prescribed standards.

Dr Manish Garg attended the event as the chief guest. The programme was organised under the guidance and encouragement of Vice-Chancellor Dr Ashok Puri, Registrar Dr Prahlad Gupta and Dean of Academic Affairs Dr Jyoti Gupta.

Quiz and poster presentation competitions were organised as part of the celebrations. The quiz tested students’ knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality assurance and regulatory standards. Through their posters, students creatively highlighted key aspects of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), including hygiene, proper documentation, quality control and patient safety.

The event emphasised that compliance with cGMP is essential for ensuring the safety, quality and efficacy of pharmaceutical products. It also provided students with an opportunity to understand the practical requirements of the pharmaceutical industry and the importance of maintaining high manufacturing standards.

The initiative underscored the university’s efforts to promote industry-oriented learning and build awareness among pharmacy students about the role of quality assurance in protecting public health.
