IEC University, located at Atal Shiksha Kunj, organised the grand celebration of the 5th BBN Bike Ride on the occasion of Republic Day and Independence Day spirit, marking the Himachal Pradesh State Establishment with enthusiasm and purpose.
The two-day bike rally was organised on January 25, with riders traveling from Delhi to IEC University, followed by the second-day ride on January 26 from IEC University to Baddi. This year’s rally was conducted under tight security arrangements, ensuring a smooth and safe journey for participants.
The main highlight of the event was its strong social message based on the theme “Say No to Drugs”, aimed at encouraging youth to stay away from drug abuse and promoting a drug-free society.
On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Ashok Puri, along with the faculty, staff, and students, hoisted the national flag on the university campus and saluted the tricolour. The programme was inaugurated by Baddi SP Vinod Dhiman (IPS) and Additional SP Ashok Verma, who also supported the university’s drug de-addiction initiative.
As part of the awareness campaign, a tree plantation drive was conducted on the campus, symbolising a commitment to a healthier and safer future. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ashok Puri said that such initiatives play a crucial role in spreading awareness among youth about the harmful impact of drugs. He appreciated the Baddi Police for their cooperation and guidance in successfully organising the event.
The mega ride witnessed participation from Delhi’s famous DRE (Delhi Royal Enfield) group, along with Riders Bikers Group members, university faculty, and students who took part enthusiastically.
Adding further energy to the event, students performed street plays on drug awareness, showcased an impressive NCC parade, presented cultural performances, and delivered motivational speeches to inspire the youth.
The programme concluded with the honouring of all participants, appreciating their contribution towards spreading the message of a drug-free Himachal.
